How I can help you
I have been a mentor for Albert Kennedy Trust for 2 years.
You talk to me about issues that are important to you that you would like to work through - and I am here to listen and mentor without any judgement.
These issues might be related to our sexual orientation or identity, or more general
issues such as writing a CV or budgeting - they can also change over time, depending what is important to you to work through to achieve your goals.
I am here to help you explore these issues, support you unpicking and overcoming challenges, help set and achieve
goals, and recommend some next steps to you to help you achieve your goals.
What to expect
I will introduce myself and check whether you have completed the registration form.
I'm a good listener with no judgement what so ever, so depending on the type of session I could ask you to tell me about yourself if it will help with the situation, how you feel about your current situation and what you would like to get out of our session together.
Depending on the session, we could spend then rest of the session exploring your options, potentially setting some goals and identifying next steps towards your goals..... or sometimes people just need a chat and someone to listen to them which is also fine too.
I'm an IT Consultant by trade, but outside of that I have worked on various LGBT Health and wellbeing projects for over 10 years - including being on committees of LGBT groups and organizing events such as Pride Games and the LGBT Youth Games.
I also run Mindfulness and Mental Resilience workshops for Businesses to help improve mental wellbeing of people in the work place.
I am relaxed approachable person - generally quite a sporty person and love watching it on TV too - especially the Olympics and I love to travel when I get the chance to experience different cultures.
